One of the first things to think about is overall decor. Where will you have the ceremony and do you have a focal point for where you will be standing? I love using a large tree and hanging ribbons. If your backyard has lots of trees, you can walk out through the trees – very dramatic! If you don’t have a tree, you can create a focal place to stand with globes or balloons. You can use petals for your aisle or line it with plants….

I love the hanging flowers from this wedding photographed by One Love Photo. Gives it such a romantic feel.
You can create your own backdrop with ribbons also if you don’t have any trees that will work as in this wedding.
Maybe you will have a tent – which is great in case of rain – something to consider.

I LOVE a backyard with hanging globes – or any kind of hanging lights.

The best part…dancing under the stars!
