How to Throw a Backyard Wedding: Decor

One of the first things to think about is overall decor. Where will you have the ceremony and do you have a focal point for where you will be standing? I love using a large tree and hanging ribbons. If your backyard has lots of trees, you can walk out through the trees – very dramatic! If you don’t have a tree, you can create a focal place to stand with globes or balloons. You can use petals for your aisle or line it with plants….

I love the hanging flowers from this wedding photographed by One Love Photo. Gives it such a romantic feel.

You can create your own backdrop with ribbons also if you don’t have any trees that will work as in this wedding.

Real Wedding: Douglas + Vanessa’s Rustic Wedding

Thank you so much to Michelle Warren for letting me share this gorgeous wedding with you guys! This wedding was at a private residence – and it looked amazing. It has the perfect amount of modern rustic elements – my favorite! If you’ve been following my blog, you know I love succulents and this wedding has lots. Mindy Rice Floral Design did a stunning job with Vanessa’s bouquet and the centerpieces. Looked like a wonderful day. Congrats to Douglas and Vanessa!
